Nizampet Roads Pose Serious Hazards For Drivers, Pedestrians.

NIZAMPET: Residents and commuters traveling via Pragathi Nagar are at risk due to severe road damage and deep potholes near Kakatiya Hills, Pragathi Central Junior School, and Vasanth Nagar in Nizampet.

This neighborhood, which is part of the Nizampet Municipal Corporation, has large potholes that are not only a source of concern but also pose a significant risk to individuals driving on them.

While speaking to Hyderabad Mail, Sai Teja, a social activist and resident of Pragathi Nagar, said, “Walking through this pothole-ridden road is difficult and dangerous, and it’s leading to back pain. How can anyone navigate these roads with heavy vehicles? It’s challenging to travel even in the summer. What will happen during the rainy season?”

“The rainy season has arrived, and the city will experience heavy rainfall, leading to water stagnation in the potholes. This poses a greater danger, as riders and pedestrians may not be aware of the presence of these potholes. Potholes can result in health hazards and also serve as potential accident sites,” said Sai Teja.

Sai Teja has expressed serious concern about the impact of a particular pothole on vehicle passage. He observed drivers navigating this area with extreme caution and reduced speed, especially during the rainy season when the potholes fill with water and worsen the situation. Without prompt attention to repairing these roads and potholes, the increased risk of accidents cannot be ignored. Sai Teja questioned who would be responsible for the accidents caused by potholes.

“After reporting the issue of pothole-ridden roads to the Assistant Engineer at the Nizampet Municipal Corporation, the authorities assured a prompt response,” said Sai Teja. He said the repairs would be done once the election code was lifted.
