Nizampet Roads

NIZAMPET: An annoyed resident of Nizampet has written to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, urging him to address the condition of the roads and street lights in Nizampet Municipality, which have allegedly been neglected by the municipal authorities to date.

Residents allege that despite numerous complaints, the problems persist in Nizampet Municipality. The residents of Pragathi Nagar expressed disappointment with the lack of action from the Municipal Commissioner and his team. The potholes, described as death traps, have allegedly claimed three lives and injured several others.

Complaint Status

Sai Teja, a resident of Nizampet and a social activist, has appealed to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Commissioner & Director of Municipal Administration (CDMA) D. Divya, and Medchal district collector Gowtham Potru to instruct the Nizampet Municipal Commissioner to address citizens’ grievances submitted through the citizen buddy portal and provide a report on the actions taken.

Teja alleged significant deficiency in the grievance redressal mechanism concerning citizen complaints in the municipality. He urged the authorities to take necessary action to save taxpayers’ money.

“I urge all concerned officials to direct their teams to inspect the municipality mentioned above and take necessary action on the complaints requiring attention. We are fighting for the public interest and have no personal interests. I have filed a complaint in the citizen buddy portal regarding the potholes, poor roads, non-functioning street lights, and open manholes in Pragathi Nagar for almost eight months, and the situation persists. The concerned officers are not fulfilling their duties as per the Service Level Agreement (SLA), demonstrating clear negligence,” says Teja.

Teja alleged that despite reporting the matter to the Nizampet Municipal Commissioner, Mayor, and Deputy Mayor via their official and personal contact numbers, he has received no response. He claimed that instead of addressing the complaints, the municipal team is closing the tickets raised in the portal without providing solutions. He requested all addressed authorities to review the number of tickets opened versus closed as per the SLA and the resolutions provided.

Nizampet residents expressed disappointment not only with the poor road conditions but also with the non-functioning street lights. Teja appealed to officials to repair the potholes and roads to reduce road accidents and increase road safety, as well as to address the issues with street light functionality to prevent crime.
