Yet another criminal case filed against former BRS MLA Jeevan Reddy

Fresh Case Filed Against Ex Brs Mla Jeevan Reddy, Spotlighting Land Dispute.

Hyderabad: Cyberabad police have registered a case of cheating and extortion against former BRS MLA A Jeevan Reddy. The case stems from a land dispute involving Chaitanya Resorts in Ranga Reddy District.

Complaint details and allegations

On May 27, businessman Sama Damodhar Reddy, 66, filed a complaint against A Jeevan Reddy and his wife, Ashannagari Rajitha. Damodhar Reddy and his partners legally own land in Tangatoor Village, Shankarpally Mandal, under the name Chaitanya Resorts. They developed and sold farming plots to buyers who are currently in peaceful possession.

In 2016, the complainant was introduced to Jeevan Reddy, then the MLA of Armoor. The couple showed interest in the resort and proposed a property exchange. An MOU was signed on June 15, 2016, and the complainant transferred several acres of land to them. However, Jeevan Reddy and his wife failed to fulfill their obligations under the MOU and began threatening and harassing the complainant.

Threats and legal action

The complainant alleges that despite multiple complaints, no action was taken due to Jeevan Reddy’s influence. Damodhar Reddy accused Jeevan Reddy of threatening him and his family. On December 24, 2023, goons threatened him via unknown phone number with 9705002139 at 3:21 PM demanding to settle land disputes.

On March 15, 2024, Reddy’s associates lured him to discuss settling disputes. Instead, masked men abducted and assaulted him, demanding property documents and signatures on blank papers. They threatened to kill him and implicate him in false cases if he disclosed their actions. Reddy reported being coerced into handing over documents and feared for his life, preventing him from lodging a complaint earlier.

The complainant has requested immediate action to protect his property and family. The Cyberabad police registered a case under various sections of the IPC, including cheating, illegal interference, property damage, and life threats. Inspector B Veera Babu of Mokila Police Station is leading the investigation.

The case against A Jeevan Reddy highlights the ongoing issues of land disputes and political influence in Telangana. The outcome of this case could have significant implications for property rights and political accountability in the region.
