On Tuesday, Kalvakuntla Kanna Rao, the nephew of BRS Chief KCR, was apprehended by Adibatla police in connection with a land dispute. His bail plea was turned down by the High Court after two failed attempts to secure anticipatory bail. Kanna Rao, along with his group, allegedly tried to take over 2 acres of land in Mane Guda, leading to the arrest of 38 individuals, including him. The Adibatla police filed a case of attempted murder against businessman Kalvakuntla Kanna Rao and his companions for trespassing on private property and assaulting employees of a company. Both parties claim ownership of the land, and the legal battle is ongoing. The incident, which occurred on Thursday, was reported late despite the initial case being filed on March 3.

The police have identified 22 suspects involved in the attack, with five already in custody and the remaining at large. Among those absconding are Kanna Rao, Jakkidi Surender, Jakkidi Harinath, Shiva, and Daniel. Meanwhile, Shiva Kumar, Chinna, Suresh, G Kumar, and Mohd Shahid have been remanded in judicial custody.

The accused face charges under various sections of the IPC, including attempt to murder, rioting, criminal trespass, causing harm with a dangerous weapon, and criminal intimidation. According to the police, OSR Projects owns a 10,000 sq yards land sold by Jakkidi Surender Reddy, who allegedly attempted to encroach on it. The accused vandalized the property, attacked caretakers, and set structures on fire. A case was registered and nephew of BRS chief arrested based on a complaint by Bandoju Srinivas of OSR Projects. The investigation is ongoing, as confirmed by Adibatla SHO, S Raghavender Reddy.
