Nampally Court Denies Bail To Gst Official Indulged In Gst Fraud

Nampally: Nampally court denied bail to a GST official who was arrested in connection with the GST fraud by Central crime station(CCS) police of Hyderabad commissionerate on Friday.

It is pertinent to note that Hyderabad police busted a GST fraud and arrested five GST officials who were indulged in a fraud. Along with the GST officials another four persons who flouted seven sham companies were also arrested in connection with the case earlier.

Vemavarapu Venkata Ramana Deputy State Tax Officer, GST, Madhapur-II Circle who was one of the accused arrested was denied bail by Mohd Afroz Akthar, Principal Special Judge for Trial of SPE and ACB on Friday.

According to the police, “Vemavarapu Venkata Ramana connived with another officer and transferred the principal place of business of M/s Grow More Electric Vehicles from Madapur-II Circle to Nalgonda District without informing his superior officer”.

V. Venktaramana transferred the principle place of business on in 2021 and subsequently another accused person uploaded the documents and Swarna kumar, Dy Commissioner, GST, State Taxes, Nalgonda District sanctioned the refund amount of Rs. 2,86,81,400 at without checking documents thereby caused loss to the Government exchequer.

Vemavarapu Venkata Ramana approached the Principal Special Judge for trial of SPE and ACB Cases for regular bail. However, Mohd Afroz Akthar, Principal Special Judge for Trial of SPE and ACB Cases heard both sides and opined that it is not a fit case to grant bail and dismissed the petition on Friday.

Shell Companies related to electric bike manufacturing unit created

Investigation revealed that the accused created shell electric bike manufacturing units with various firm’s names by collecting electricity bills from the premises owners in Hyderabad locality. Subsequently, they registered the firms in GST Portal by submitting fake and fabricated rental agreements. Further Preliminary investigation suggests that the accused persons claimed refund and gained wrongfully and caused the wrongful loss to the Government Exchequer, without manufacturing of E-Bikes

The accused GST officials illegally exploiting their government jobs criminally conspired with other accused persons, accepted bribes, misappropriated the public funds taking advantage of their position.
