HYDERABAD: In a very humble gesture, a Muslim man donated land for a Hanuman temple in Medipally village in Moinabad mandal, just 15 km away from the famous Chilkur Balaji Temple in Hyderabad.

According to reports, the man identified as Salahuddin donated 5 Gunthas of land to the newly constructed Hanuman Temple. Chilkur Balaji temple priest, Rangarajan, who was invited to the Temple Pratishta, was very appreciative of this great activity by Salahuddin, who donated approximately 5 Gunthas (600 sq yards) of his land for the Hanuman Temple.

Chilkur Balaji temple priest, Rangarajan, said, “What is more appreciative in these communally sensitive times is this gesture, which will help set an example for harmonious coexistence.”

This is not the first time members of the Muslim community have donated land for temples in India, known for its religious harmony.

Earlier, Shaik Meera Saheb, the sarpanch of Budidampadu, built a temple dedicated to Lord Rama at Budidampadu village of Raghunathapalem mandal in Khammam district.

He spent around Rs 25 lakh from his own pocket for the purpose, setting a perfect example of communal harmony. He was reportedly motivated to build a temple due to the lack of a permanent religious structure in their village to perform annual rituals of ‘Seetharama Kalyanam.

In 2022, a Muslim family donated land worth Rs 2.5 crore for the construction of the world’s largest Hindu temple – Virat Ramayan Mandir – in the Kaithwalia area of East Champaran district in Bihar. The man identified as Ishtiyaq Ahmad Khan is a businessman from East Champaran in Guwahati.”
