Manchi Pustakam marks 20 years of promoting Telugu Literature for children

HYDERABAD: Manchi Pustakam, a registered Public Trust, is celebrating 20 years of publishing and promoting books, primarily for children in the Telugu language. The event will take place at St Ann’s Generalate in Tarnaka, Hyderabad, on April 27 between 10:30 am and 5:30 pm.
Manchi Pustakam’s objective is to promote reading and readers, mainly focusing on developing children’s reading proficiency in Telugu. They have published over 500 titles – both original and translated – in the past 20 years. Manchi Pustakam specialises in books in Telugu for children, with a focus on fiction and popular science books. They also publish books on education and nurturing children for teachers and adults. Bhagya Lakshmi, founder of Manchi Pustakam, said, “We help parents to identify age-appropriate reading material for their children. We guide them, if necessary, in their child’s reading progression. We assist teachers in building libraries for their schools and suggest activities around the library. We also help donors and philanthropists in identifying books for donating to school and general libraries.”
