Borabanda: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader, Maganti Gopinath, also the Jubilee Hills Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) allegedly violated the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) set for the ensuing Lok Sabha elections, as he entered a mosque with their party flags on Thursday.

Borabanda corporator and Congress leader, Baba Fasiuddin alleged that Maganti Gopinath and his team did not heed to the words of Imam, who said that the prayers were going on and despite which the BRS leader entered the party.

The state of Telangana is gearing up for the Lok Sabha Elections to be held on May 13, 2024 and the results would be declared on June 4.
In the videos that are circulating now on social media, Fasiuddin is seen questioning Gopinath for his conduct at the mosque and accuses him of being a RSS person and hating Muslims.”He did it intentionally, even after informing him about prayers also he entered the mosque.”

Corporator says he would file complaint against BRS MLA

Corporator Baba Fasiuddin has also announced his intention to file a complaint with the Election Commission against BRS MLA Maganti Gopinath for allegedly violating the model code of conduct during the ongoing election campaign.

Corporator Fasiuddin in this regard further added that MLA Gopinath conducted an election campaign at Masjid Dargah in Borabanda division, which is a violation of the election code. Fasiuddin has accused Gopinath of using religious places for political gain, which is against the rules.

“I will file a complaint with the Election Commission against MLA Gopinath’s actions, which are aimed at influencing voters and misleading the public,” said Corporator Fasiuddin.

This controversy comes amidst the intense political rivalry in the state among the Congress, BRS and BJP parties accusing each other of violating election norms. The Election Commission has been taking strict action against such violations to ensure a free and fair election.
