JMM-led alliance MLAs shifted to Hyderabad amid BJP poaching threat

HYDERABAD: Amidst the political crisis following Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s arrest and resignation in Jharkhand, MLAs from the JMM-led alliance are expected to be moved to Hyderabad to safeguard against potential poaching attempts by the BJP.

According to the reports, two chartered planes were arranged to shift MLAs from Jharkhand to Hyderabad in the wake of Hemant Soren’s arrest and resignation. The decision to fly MLAs was taken to prevent potential horse-trading amidst an ongoing political crisis in Jharkhand State.

The JMM-led alliance, comprising Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal, currently has 47 lawmakers in the 81-member Jharkhand assembly.

The most recent reports suggest that the JMM MLAs’ flight to Hyderabad was canceled due to unfavorable weather conditions. There are indications that the MLAs may opt for another flight once the weather stabilizes.
