Hyderabad residents face communication blockades due to inactive government Email addresses

Inactive Email Addresses

Hyderabad: Residents of Hyderabad are struggling to address their concerns with the Telangana government due to malfunctioning email addresses for several departments. This lack of communication channels is causing frustration and hindering residents’ ability to file complaints or inquiries formally.

While speaking with the Hyderabad Mail, Sai Teja, an RTI and Civic Activist, raised concerns and alleged that several official email addresses belonging to Telangana government are not active; following email ids are “prlsecy_poll_gad@telanagana.gov.in, secy_cm@telangana.gov.in, director_ jbbts@yahoo.com, cmd_transco@telangana.gov.in, zareena_director@gmail.com, tsbcs2014@gmail.com, tsvtdphyd@gmail.com, commr_cs@telangala.gov.in, virojiroasindhe@yahoo.co.in, clm_ts@nic.in, treasuries@telangana.gov.in, vcmd_csc@telangana.gov.in, directortomlri_ts@gov.in, diripm@gmail.com, telanganaprotocal@gmail.com, telanganastatepressacademy@gmail.com, pratapreddy.chilumala@gmail.com, dgprisionsts@gmail.com, dtcp_tg@gmail.com, cephts@gmail.com, cp@rck.tspolice.gov.in, pp.highcourt@yahoo.com, cp-hyd@tspolice.gov.in, coi.inds.telangana@gov.in, adgts@telangana.gov.in, dirvs@tsrtc.gov.in, vcmd@tsrtc.gov.in, sreesudhaap@gmail.com, commissioneer.pe@gmail.com, peshi_twscl@telangana.gov.in, ceo-tsdps@telangana.gov.in, prlsecy-housing@telangana.gov.in, mohanty.ak@ap.gov.in, prlsecy_revenue_ctex@telangana.gov.in.”

Sai Teja said, “The email IDs of state officials or concerned departments are not functional due to technical issues, causing considerable hardship for the public who wish to lodge complaints or raise issues formally.” He emphasized the importance of these email IDs for public convenience, stating that not everyone can visit the office every time; hence, these email IDs are provided.

Govt Inactive Email Address

In 2016, the Telangana Government issued a Government Order mandating that every government department should have an email ID to communicate with the public and address grievances. However, he noted that these email IDs are currently non-functional for unspecified technical reasons.

Sai Teja urged the authorities to resolve these issues promptly. Recently, he brought this issue to the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply Sewerage Board department to update their email ID, but unfortunately, there has been no response.

He appealed directly to IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu, emphasizing the need to update the email IDs, especially in light of the recent change from TS to TG. Any necessary changes to government email IDs should be made promptly.

The Telangana State Portal website still displays the names of previous officers and has not been updated with current information. Sai Teja observed that it is crucial to update the website with current details and ensure that changes in email IDs are easily accessible to the public.

In addition, he pointed out that some government websites lack information at all, such as those of the Department for Women, Children, Disabled and Senior Citizens, Irrigation & C.A.D. (Projects Wing) Department, Irrigation and Command Area Development (IW) Department, Public Enterprises, etc. The concerned authorities must verify and make necessary updates.
