No water supply in several areas of Hyderabad on July 4

Hyderabad: A newly constructed cement concrete road project in Shaikpet has become a source of frustration for residents due to a neglected 50-70 meter stretch left unlaid for the past six months. This missing link between Dattatreya Nagar and Sita Nagar Basthi Dawakhana creates a nightmarish commute for pedestrians and motorists alike.

Large potholes and stagnant water have filled the unlaid portion, causing unsanitary conditions and posing a safety hazard. Residents, especially those using the road to reach the nearby urban primary health care center (UPHC), have expressed immense inconvenience due to the incomplete project.

While speaking to the Hyderabad Mail, Ajay Kumar Maryala, a social activist from Shaikpet, brought the issue to light, saying, “The crossroads connecting Sita Nagar, Dattatreya Nagar, Vinobha Nagar, and O.U Colony is a crucial intersection where the Shaikpet UPHC is situated. This unfinished stretch forces commuters to navigate a path riddled with potholes and stagnant water, creating a filthy and hazardous environment.”

Ajay Kumar Maryala further said the importance of the unlaid section as it serves as the main entry point to Dattatreya Nagar, Manikonda, and O.U Colony from Dattatreya Nagar. He expressed disappointment at the lack of response from authorities despite bringing the matter to the attention of the Assistant Engineer (AE), Executive Engineer (EE) of Jubilee Hills, and even the Deputy Commissioner of Jubilee Hills.

Ajay said, “No action has been taken, not even temporary measures like grading the road or filling the potholes. It’s shocking how officials can neglect such a serious public inconvenience caused by potholes on major roads and junctions.”

Concerns are mounting about the upcoming Bonalu festival in Shaikpet this July, celebrated only once every two years. Ajay Maryala urged the GHMC Deputy Commissioner and Zonal Commissioner to intervene and expedite the completion of the road project before the festivities begin.

The ILCA 6 Open category saw Ram Milan leading with a stellar performance, capturing the first place. Mohapatra sailed skillfully to earn second spot in a competitive race, while Dilip completed the top three, demonstrating impressive sailing techniques and strategy.

In the 470 Class, the duo of Sharada Verma and RK Sharma sailed to victory, taking the first position with their seamless teamwork and coordination. Nancy Rai and Manish Sharma finished in second place, showcasing their strong sailing partnership. Sudhanshu and Uma Chauhan Shekar secured third position.

The film, produced by Rana Daggubati, Srujan Yarabolu, and Siddharth Rallapalli. Film is set for a simultaneous release in Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam languages on August 15th.
