Heavy Rains Brings Hyderabad Traffic To Stand Still In Gachibowli Areas.

Gachibowli: The heavy rains have caused huge traffic jams in the city of Hyderabad with roads inundated with rain water on Thursday. Choc-o-block traffic scenes are witnessed in many parts of Gachibowli, Mindspace, Kondapur, Kukatpally, Kothaguda juction among other various parts in the city. It is taking hours for the commuters to move from one spot to another.

Videos of vehicles moving bumper to bumper at a roundabout near IKEA are also going viral on social media, as it shows the plight of commuters.

Based on the ground situation, the Cyberabad Traffic police also issued an advisory on their X account and said, “Rains are getting stratified now, so there wont be heavy rains, but steady light – moderate showers to continue for next 1-1.5 hours. Citizens are requested to plan their travel time accordingly. “

It further added that the traffic movement is slow at IKEA Rotary, NCB Junction, Gachibowli junction, Whisper Valley, Nectar Garden, Shilpa Layout Flyover, NIA (towards JNTU), RTA office from Kondapur, Kothaguda junction, Kukatpally Y junction among others.

Similar advisory was also issued by the Hyderabad Traffic Police to citizens that said, “Due to heavy Rains traffic movement of vehicle is slow from Masabtank, Mahaveer Hospital, PTI, Ayodhya, Nirankari, Shadan towards VV statue. Saifabad Tr Police are available and regulating traffic. Commuters are requested to take alternate route.”

Meanwhile, similar scenes of jam due to inundation of roads is also being witnessed. Water logging is reported in areas such as Karkhana and Secunderabad areas. A social media user said, “Water logging opposite Karkhana ps, looks like a rivulet, due to heavy rains lashed in Hyderabad, which causes huge traffic jam. My family member almost missed the train, reached Secunderabad station just 5 minutes before departure of the train. #HyderabadRains #Hyderabad”

GHMC officials have advised the residents not to come out of their homes, until necessary and advised to take shelter in perfect structures.
