Hyderabad Police Rescues Minor Girl Apprehends Foster Mother In Prostitution Case

JUBILEE HILLS: The Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone Team, rescued a minor girl on Saturday and apprehended a 38-year-old woman who was forcing her minor foster daughter into prostitution.

The accused, identified as P. Laxmi (38), a junior artist residing in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, was arrested. Laxmi, also a junior artist in the film industry, started a brothel house from her residence due to insufficient income from cinema roles.

The victim, raised by Laxmi since she was an infant due to which she always considered Laxmi as her as her own mother. However, emotionally blackmailed her to engage in prostitution for two years.

When she refused, Laxmi physically tortured her by beating her with a stick and burning her skin with hot metal. She forced her to drop out of school and even went so far as to cut off her hair.

Acting on a tip-off, the Commissioner’s Task Force team, Zone West, stormed Laxmi’s apartment where the prostitution was taking place and rescued the victim. Necessary legal action is being taken against the accused and her accomplices.

The Hyderabad city police have appealed to citizens to be aware of their surroundings and report information about illegal places of prostitution, trafficking of minors and sale of drugs in public to the police.
