Hyderabad: Two Medical students of Osmania Medical College who are consuming Ganja were arrested by the sleuths of Sultan Bazar Police, Hyderabad along with Telangana Anti Narcotics Bureau(TGANB). The police also apprehended one Ganja Peddler and seized 10 sachets of Ganja total weighing 80 Grams and

The arrested drug peddler was identified as Suresh Singh alias Tinku Singh. According to the police, ganja peddler Suresh Singh was nabbed by police when he came to Koti to sell Ganja to Medical Students. He along with two doctors, who came to buy the Ganja were taken into custody. Further both doctors were tested positive for the Ganja Urine Test.

“The accused Suresh Singh has been peddling Ganja since 2016 and he used to procure the same from one Dinesh Singh of Machipura, Dhoolpet and sell them to customers who used to come to Gode ki Kabar. During that period some medical students used to approach him to purchase Ganja and through them many more students went to him and purchased Ganja.

During investigation police have identified around 10 medical students used to purchase Ganja from the accused. For the last 2 years the accused Suresh Singh has been purchasing Ganja from one Pankaj Singh resident of Jummerath Bazaar.

With a tip off on Friday the accused Suresh Singh when came to Koti to sell Ganja to his regular customers who are medical students was apprehended by police. Further a case has been booked under NDPS Act-1985 was registered at Sultan Bazar Police Station, Hyderabad. So far (04) medical students were identified and efforts are in progress to identify other medical students who consumed drugs.

Hyderabad police appealed to the public that in recent times we have seen several youth/students getting addicted to Drugs, committing crime and involving in other anti-social activities. Several families have become victims of this menace. It is an ardent request from Hyderabad City Police to the youth/students not to fall prey to drugs and request the parents to keep a watch on the activities of their children and feel free to approach police or pass information to Police on Phone No.8712671111 to curtail such anti-social activities and strive for Drug free city.

Hyderabad: The Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has announced another trip of the Bharat Gaurav tourist train, and named the trip as Punya Kshetra Yaatra: Ayodhya – Kashi, scheduled from July 9 to 17, 2024, departing from Secunderabad Railway Station.

The 9-day pilgrimage tour will begin from Secunderabad Railway Station on July 9, covering holy destinations including Gaya, Varanasi, Ayodhya, and Prayagraj. Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials arrested L. Balwanth Reddy, an Assistant Engineer of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), in Circle XI, Rajendranagar, over charges of bribery on July 5 (Friday).

According to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials, Balwanth Reddy was caught red-handed while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 15,000 from Mohd. Muzaffaruddin Quadri, a Class V (Civil) Contractor. The bribe was allegedly demanded to expedite the processing of a bill for completed work.

The ACB recovered the bribe money of Rs. 15,000 from Reddy’s possession. A chemical test conducted on his hands confirmed contact with the bribe money.

The ACB officials have accused Reddy of performing his duties improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage. He has been arrested and will be presented before the Hon’ble I Addl. Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases in Hyderabad.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials encourage the public to report any demands for bribes by public servants by calling their toll-free number: 1064.

It was learned that recently, Inspector of Police Akula Venkatesham at Suraram Police Station under Cyberabad Commissionerate, was caught redhandedly by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Rangareddy Unit. The arrest took place on June 21, 2024, at 6.15 p.m., following allegations of corruption.

The ACB’s action came after Ratnakaram Sai Raju, a resident of Gajularamaram Village, Quthbullapur Mandal, Medchal-Malkajgiri District, filed a complaint against Inspector Venkatesham.

The complaint accused the officer of demanding a bribe amounting to Rs 5,00,000 for facilitating development work on Raju’s land. It was reported that Venkatesham had already accepted Rs 1,00,000 as a partial payment of the bribe.

Further investigations revealed that Inspector Venkatesham had previously accepted Rs 2,00,000 from the complainant as a bribe to refrain from initiating criminal proceedings against Raju. Evidence collected during the investigation included the recovery of the bribe money from Venkatesham and the positive chemical testing of items such as a bed sheet and pillow cover from his residence.

Inspector Venkatesham was promptly arrested and is being presented before the First Additional Special Judge for Special Enforcement (SPE) and ACB Cases at Nampally, Hyderabad. The case remains under investigation by the authorities.
