Hyderabad: A 40-year-old Chandrayana Gutta resident, who migrated to Dubai, was arrested by the Hyderabad cyber crime police on Tuesday in connection with making death threats over calls to Goshamahal MLA T Raja Singh. The suspect was making calls to T Raja Singh from random numbers by using VOIP calling applications, and abused him in filthy language and threatened him.

The accused, Mohammad Waseem went to Dubai for better livelihood and eke out a living by working as a driver, according to the police.

According to the complainant T Raja Singh, he had received a call from the number +619664800063233 and issued threats by the unknown caller stating and threatening to harm him and his family before the upcoming General Election 2023 and he even threatened that before counting day they would kill him and family. Further he stated that the caller had threatened that he even planned to kill Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, during his election campaign in his Goshamahal Constituency.

Following a complaint from Raja Singh, Hyderabad cyber crime police booked a case under section 506 (Criminal intimidation), 507(Criminal intimidation by anonymous communication) and started investigation.

Cyber Crime police after analyzing the technical evidence like call data they have zeroed on the suspect Mohd. Waseem was staying in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) and further started monitoring his movements. Investigation revealed that the accused used to continuously make threatening calls to T.Raja Singh, MLA from random numbers by using VOIP calling applications, and abused him in filthy language and threatened him. Subsequently Cyber crime police issued a look out circular(LOC) against him and efforts were made to bring him to India.

On Tuesday the suspect landed at Rajiv Gandhi International airport (RGIA) airport, Shamshabad from Dubai. As LOC was issued against him, a red flag was raised by immigration officials who took him into custody. Further immigration officials handed over the accused to Hyderabad Cyber crime police and produced in the court.
