Customs seizes 12 kg Gold

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Customs officials seized a total of 12 kilograms of gold in 27 cases during March 2024 at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), as revealed by Hyderabad customs on Tuesday. The gold, concealed in various forms such as check-in baggage, paste form, and body concealment, was intercepted.

Hyderabad Customs Seizes 12 kg Gold in March 2024:

In February 2024, Hyderabad Customs confiscated over 13.65 kilograms of gold valued at Rs. 6.03 crore in 28 different cases. The gold was concealed in various ways, including the stomach, rectum, hardware tools, mercury-coated chains, and checked-in baggage. Additionally, three arrests were made in February 2024.

During the financial year 2023-24, a total of 132 kilograms of gold was seized in 247 cases, leading to 31 arrests.
