EC did not provide information, entitled for the candidate

Lubna said that she was asking information related to the account of votes recorded in all the 1944 polling booths in the Hyderabad constituency through Form 17C Part 1, Annexure I Polling Station Data for Scrutiny Decision’ & ‘Annexure II Recommendation of Retuning Officer for Re-poll after scrutiny of Form 17A and other documents’. She further asked for the Tabulated polling booth wise data of number of electors vis a vis Number of Votes polled in Hyderabad constituency and booth wise lists of ASD (Absentee, Shifted, Deceased) as given to the Presiding Officer on the day of election, held on May 13, 2024.

She further notified that she is going on a hunger strike at her home to the CEO of Telangana through a letter. In the letter, she said, “It is an affront to the democratic process that I as a candidate have not been given the above documents till date, which should have been actually available in public domain. This is highly distressful that even as counting day i.e, 4 June 2024 is approaching i do not have a single document sought for.”
