Task Force Finds Live Rats At Hotel New Fishland In Lakdikapul

HYDERABAD: The Task Force team discovered rat infestations at Hotel New Fishland. Team also found other health violations during inspections at Hotel New Fishland, Hotel Ashoka, Hydrate – The Bar, and China Bistro in Hyderabad’s Lakdikapul and Jubilee Hills areas.

Violations at several restaurants, team found live rats

On Saturday, the Task Force team inspected several restaurants in the Lakdikapul area. At Hotel New Fishland, they found a severe rat infestation inside the kitchen. Live rats were seen roaming over the floor and exhaust vents. The Food Business Operator (FBO) had not arranged any rat traps to address the issue. Synthetic food colors found in the kitchen were discarded on the spot. Additionally, open dustbins without proper lids were observed. The FBO lacked Medical Fitness Certificates for food handlers and pest control records. The semi-prepared food stored in the refrigerator was uncovered and unlabeled. Moreover, the FSSAI license true copy was not displayed at the premises.

At Hotel Ashoka’s kitchen, serving Moonlight Bar, the Task Force team found expired food articles, including 5 kg of Chicken Leg Boneless, Liquid Caramel Color, and 10 kg of Green Gram Dal, infested with Black Beetles. These items were discarded on the spot. They also seized 24 packets of cashews that did not comply with FSSAI labeling regulations. Cockroach infestations were noted near the red meat storage area. However, the semi-prepared food articles were properly covered and labeled. Dustbins were closed with lids, and the FBO had Medical Fitness Certificates and pest control records. The FSSAI license true copy was displayed at the premises.

Hydrate – The Bar faced similar scrutiny. The Task Force team discarded expired food articles, including 10 kg of Chilled Chicken Wings, 0.9 kg of Amul Peanut Spread, and 5 kg of Pasta/Macaroni. They seized BBQ Sauce without importer labels. Dustbins were open without proper lids. The FBO did not have Medical Fitness Certificates for food handlers. Although the semi-prepared food was covered, it was not labeled properly. The FSSAI license true copy was not displayed, but pest control records and water analysis reports for RO water used for cooking were available.

On Friday, the Task Force team inspected China Bistro in Jubilee Hills. They discarded expired food articles, such as Potato Flakes, Scamorza Cheese, Rice Flour, White Vinegar, and Pasta. The semi-prepared food stored in the refrigerator had labels beyond their “Use By” dates, which were also discarded. Mayonnaise Sweet Sauce, Premium Dry Fruits Nutmeg, Dry Dates, Makhana, Cloves, and Pancake Syrup were seized for not following FSSAI labeling regulations. Dustbins were open without proper lids, and the FBO lacked Medical Fitness Certificates and pest control records. The FSSAI license true copy was not displayed at the premises.
