Garbage Dumping, Pothole Hazards Plague Hitech City

HYDERABAD: Hitech City in Hyderabad is facing critical challenges, with indiscriminate garbage dumping and hazardous potholes plaguing its streets.

Despite their seriousness, these issues are not receiving the immediate attention they demand. It is crucial that these concerns are promptly addressed to prevent them from escalating into more severe and potentially hazardous situations.

While talking to Hyderabad Mail, the admin of TG Citizen, who is known for being a responsible and active member of society, shared his thoughts on the state of the city’s infrastructure. He described coming across a massive garbage dump and a deep pothole in the IT hub, which is truly alarming, especially during the rainy season. If anyone were to accidentally fall into this gaping sewer, they would be swept directly into the Musi River, added TG Citizen Admin.

TG Citizen expressed deep concern about “the prevailing perception that the roads and connecting streets in Hitech City are better than those in the old city. He emphasised that this assumption is far from reality, highlighting that even the roads and streets within Hitech City are in a deplorable condition. This raises important questions about the overall maintenance and development of urban infrastructure in the region.”

Despite numerous complaints and reports filed with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), the issue was reported more than a couple of months ago in Hi-Tech City, beside the Gorah Foundation. However, the situation remains the same today, and no authority has responded to rectify it, said the citizen.

TG Citizen took to ‘X’ and posted the following: “It was reported more than a couple of months ago, and the situation remains unchanged till today. Surprisingly, it’s in the hi-tech city beside the Gorah Foundation. Tagging @HMWSSBOnline, @MDHMWSSB, and @GHMCOnline. If someone encounters #hyderabadrains, take the direct route to Chaderghat Musi.”
