GHMC slaps Rs. 50,000 fine on CTC Secunderabad for unauthorized parking fees collection

HYDERABAD: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has fined Chenoy Trade Center (CTC) Secunderabad Rs. 50,000 for charging a parking fee of Rs. 20 from a customer.

The complaint Umesh Kumar revealed that parking personnel at CTC Secunderabad persisted in collecting fees, disregarding his attempts to present shopping bills. This not only dismissed his valid proof of purchase but also violated the Telangana government’s designated “Policy on Parking,” as outlined in G.O.Ms No. 63 dated March 20, 2018.

The government’s parking policy aims to address various parking-related issues and regulate the collection of parking fees in Hyderabad and other urban areas of Telangana.

GHMC levied the fine upon observing CTC’s misuse of parking common areas in their commercial building, a violation of sections 24 & 28 of the Telangana Apartments Act & Rules, 1987
