GHMC sanitation worker threatens, dumps garbage inside 75-year-old’s home in Sainikpuri

Sanitation Worker Dumps Garbage In Home At Sainikpuri

Allegations of Harassment and Collusion

SAINIKPURI: In a shocking incident, a GHMC sanitation worker reportedly threatened a 75-year-old senior citizen and dumped garbage in his residence in Sainikpuri, located within the Kapra circle of Hyderabad.

The victim, identified as 75-year-old MVVS Appa Rao, resides in Nethaji Nagar in Sainikpuri. The neighbor, A.V Sudhakar Rao, had allegedly discarded waste towards the South-East corner of their dwelling. However, instead of addressing the refuse deposited near their home, sanitary field assistant Vasantha brought sweeper Susheela and disposed of the entire waste into their residence.

The complainant, Appa Rao, claimed that the sanitary field assistant, Vasantha, arrived and rudely deposited a broomstick into their home. Rao further alleged that Vasantha exhibited discourteous behavior towards him and his wife over the phone, upon being informed about the waste disposal into their residence, purportedly under the directive of sanitary supervisor Nagaraj.

Rao accused sanitary supervisor Nagaraj and sanitary field assistant Vasantha of collusion, asserting that they harassed him and his wife by dumping waste and a broomstick at the base of a Bael tree, revered for its sanctity, where leaves are utilised for their daily rituals. He contended that the refuse and broomstick remain at the tree’s base.

The Confrontation and Complaint

In a complaint addressed to Deputy Commissioner of Kapra Municipality, Appa Rao alleged that the sweeper had confessed to dumping the waste into their home as per the instructions of Sanitary Field Assistant Vasantha. Rao further claimed that Nagaraj denied acknowledging the CCTV footage as evidence of waste disposal by their neighbor, A.V.Sudhakar Rao, and purportedly declared allegiance to whatever directives Vasantha provided, threatening to levy a fine of Rs. 10,000 for the waste dumped by A.V.Sudhakar Rao.

Appa Rao asserted that the actions of Nagaraj and Vasantha amounted to intentional mental harassment and gross violation of their fundamental rights. He disclosed that Nagaraj had openly challenged him to seek redress from any authority. Rao submitted all CCTV footage along with the complaint and demanded action against both sanitary supervisor Nagaraj and sanitary field assistant Vasantha for disposing of the neighbor’s waste into their home.
