GHMC to organise monsoon safety awareness program on June 10

HYDERABAD: In light of the frequent flooding, waterlogging, and other types of hazards in the city during the monsoon, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation’s (GHMC) Disaster Management unit is organising a one-day awareness program at its training centre in
Fathulaguda, Nagole, on June 10 (Monday).

This awareness program is specifically designed to empower individuals with vital knowledge and skills needed to ensure the personal safety and protection of others during floods, waterlogging, and the monsoon season.

Join GHMC’s Disaster Management Awareness Programme on June 10

The Directorate of Enforcement, Vigilance, and Disaster Management (EV&DM) under GHMC has announced that 100 slots are available for people to join the awareness programme on June 10. Individuals from vulnerable locations, building staff, RWAs, street vendors, unions, etc. are encouraged to participate in this programme.

The day’s schedule is as follows: a two-hour instructional class in the morning, where you will gain vital knowledge; a one-hour demonstration at the training centre; and in the afternoon, the participants will engage in a mock drill at Indira Gandhi Park, putting their newly acquired skills into practice.

This awareness programme is designed for residents of Hyderabad’s six zones: LB Nagar, Secunderabad, Charminar, Khairatabad, Kukatpally, and Serilingampally. It aims to educate individuals on important precautions and safety measures during the monsoon season.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has established a Disaster Management Cell to improve preparedness and response capabilities for disaster situations.
