MALKAJGIRI: Illegal construction has become a concern throughout Hyderabad, including Malkajgiri. Unauthorised buildings have mushroomed, causing problems for citizens, the environment, and the surroundings by failing to adhere to norms.

According to sources, Venu, a resident of Mallikarjuna Nagar, Street No. 3, Malkajgiri, allegedly built an unauthorised construction without following the guidelines.

“Mallikarjuna Nagar, Road No. 3, which is zoned as a residential area, allows construction of ground level and two-story buildings within 262 square meters. However, Venu, the owner of an unauthorized building, has constructed an illegal three-story building. Now he is planning to construct a fourth story despite several complaints,” said the Social Activist.

“The Social Activist said, “Venu, the unauthorised builder, planned to erect a slab overnight yesterday, disturbing the entire colony. Many cardiac patients in our colony suffered from the noise pollution last night.”

When we confronted him about the noise pollution, he made a fuss but did not stop the work. We informed the police, who then visited the site and stopped the unauthorised construction work. But shortly after they left, he immediately started his work. He caused a lot of problems and erected the floor slab for the fourth floor.

After we lodged a complaint with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) about the unauthorised construction work, Commissioner D. Ronald Rose took immediate action and sent Town Planning Officer Tulja Singh to the area.

Town Planning Officer Tulja Singh inspected the unauthorised building in Malkajgiri, stopped the construction work, and directed the workers to remove the centering of the unauthorised floor.

However, Venu halted the building works for two or three days upon his departure but not permanently. He is also now planning to construct a penthouse. We are also facing the same unauthorised construction issue on street no. 4 of Malkajgiri. So, we demand that the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation take stringent action and permanently stop these unauthorised building constructions.
