FSSAI Task Force found violations at several stores in Hyderabad

HYDERABADA: Food safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) Task Force team has conducted inspections in Ameerpet Metro Station outlets, Khairatabad area, and Lakdikapul area in the past three days and found violations in maintaining the outlets.

Task Force Conducts Inspections at Metro Station Outlets

On Thursday, a FSSAI Task Force team inspected outlets at Ameerpet Metro Station. At Ratnadeep Retail Store, they found 15 leaking packs of Cadbury Bournville Dark Chocolate. These were seized, and samples were taken for analysis.

Jumbo King Burgers faced multiple violations. The outlet operated with a registration instead of the required license, breaching FSSAI rules. It did not use a TPC Meter to check the quality of reused oil. The task force discarded unlabeled Paneer Patty worth ₹ 2,600 due to this issue. They also noted hygiene problems like water stagnation and open dustbins.

KFC presented improper Medical Fitness Certificates for its staff. The Five Star Food Court also had several issues. They did not monitor the quality of reused oil with a TPC meter. Hygiene problems included open dustbins and staff not wearing hair-caps or gloves. They also lacked medical fitness certificates for their food handlers.

Task Force Inspects Khairatabad Area

On Friday, the Task Force team inspected the Khairatabad area. At Kamat Hotel, they seized unlabeled noodles and tea powder packets worth ₹ 25,000. Food handlers lacked medical fitness certificates and hair-caps or gloves.

At Hotel Sukha Sagara Veg Restaurant, they destroyed JK Button Mushroom Packets worth ₹ 1,425, which lacked manufacturing and use-by dates. Plastering flakes were spread over roof and wall areas. The kitchen premises lacked separation from the outside environment.

Task Force Inspections in Lakdikapul Area

On Saturday, the Task Force team inspected Rayalaseema Ruchulu Restaurant. They found 20 kg of Maida infested with black beetles and destroyed it. They also destroyed 2 kg of insect-infested tamarind. Expired Amul gold milk was discarded. They seized 168 bottles of Goli Soda worth ₹ 16,000 due to a lack of manufacturing licenses. Unlabeled cashew and jawari roti worth ₹ 11,000 were discarded. Improper storage practices included storing veg and non-veg together. Hygiene issues included blocked drains and open kitchen windows.

At Shah Ghouse, they found unlabeled prepared and semi-prepared food in storage. Medical records for food handlers were unavailable. Hygiene issues included water stagnation. The team lifted statutory samples and sent them for lab analysis.
