According to the police, Jadhav’s salary was not sufficient to support his lavish lifestyle because of his gambling addiction. In 2017, he was involved in a case of extortion in which he impersonated a police officer. To maintain his lifestyle, Jadhav targeted customers who had booked escorts at luxury hotels in Hyderabad. He obtained a fake police ID card from a social media group and used it to intimidate his victims.

“In February 2023, Jadhav targeted a victim at the Marriott Hotel in Secunderabad. Posing as a police officer, he displayed the fake ID on his phone and blackmailed the victim, claiming to possess nude videos and threatening to expose them. He extorted Rs. 5 lakh, a 2 tola gold chain, and an additional Rs. 5 lakh in subsequent transactions, totaling Rs. 10 lakh,” revealed the police.

Unable to bear the harassment, the victim approached the police. The Commissioner’s Task Force, North Zone Team, and Gandhinagar Police apprehended Jadhav.

SIs Srinivasulu Dasu, P. Gnanadeep, and B. Ashok Reddy, along with their team from the North Zone Task Force, conducted the apprehension.
