Cyberabad Police Crack brazen Daylight Robbery Case of Medchal, arrest two
Medchal: One Sixty one CCTVs, hours of footage analysis, mapping out the movements of assailants and Sixteen special teams from different arms of Cyberabad police – exhaustive effort put up by Cyberabad police helped crack the brazen broad daylight botched robbery. This meticulous investigation led to the arrests of two bike borne assailants who stabbed a jewellery shop owner in Medchal under Cyberabad police Commissionerate. The police have arrested two assailants in connection with the case.
The police identified the assailants as Nazim Aziz Kotadia and Shaik Sohail. Manhunt launched against another absconding accused Salman.
“Taking this offence as a prestigious issue under the Guidance of Cyberabad police formed 16 teams and meticulously scrutinized about 161 CCTV footages hereby the scene of offence and mapped out the path of the accused person traveled. On meticulous and continuous verification all the CCTV footage traced the accused person in a tactical manner” said Cyberabad police in an official note.
The robbery which was captured in the shop’s CCTV footage shows two bike borne assailants parked their bike in front of the shop. The pillion rider who was wearing a burqa entered the shop and threatened the shop owner wielding a knife. The robber demanded the owner to give the gold ornaments and cash. They order the owner to put the cash into a bag. Meanwhile the accused in the burqa event stabbed the owner on the neck. The associate who was riding the bike also entered the shop wearing a helmet. The owner escaped with an stabbing injury.
According to the police the accused person Nazim Aziz Kotadia hailing from Mumbai Maharashtra State. After completion of his studies he went to Africa, China and America for job. His parents stay in America. After staying in America he came to Kompally, started a business and incurred huge business losses. Nazim Aziz Kotadia started driving for Rapido to support his family. As he was not getting enough money from Rapido rides he decided to commit crime to earn easy money to fulfill his needs.
Conducted recce in tri commissionerate limits
Investigation revealed that both accused Nazim Aziz Kotadia and Shaik Sohail met in jail and hatched a plan to commit robbery and both were made recce of jewellery shops in Cyberabad, Hyderabad and Rachakonda Commissionerate limits.
“The accused persons planned to rob a jewellery shop in Medchal. As part of their plan, on june 17 three days prior to the robbery, stole a bike in the limits of OU Police Station at Habsiguda. And kept the bike on the outskirts of Medchal two days before the offence. Subsequently, they purchased a burqa and a knife” said Cyberabad police.
On Friday the accused arrived at Medchal in a trolley. Nazim Aziz wore the burqa and they conducted recce at Medchal town for 3-4 times.After confirming there were no customers in the shop, around 1:40 PM, Nazim Aziz Kotadia and Shaik Sohail entered Jagadamba Jewelry Shop, which was not crowded. Nazim Aziz threatened to kill the owner, stabbed him on the left side of the chest, and attempted to steal the gold ornaments. The accused persons escaped from the spot, made a U-turn towards the outskirts of Medchal-Nizamabad, parked the Pulsar motorcycle beside the road, and fled in an trolley auto. Medchal police arrested the accused Nazim Aziz Kotadia and Shaik Sohail at Nampally while they were in front of the railway station. Further investigation is underway.
CM Revanth Reddy reorganizes disaster management for Greater Hyderabad
HYDERABAD: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has decided to assign critical responsibilities to the Disaster Management Department within Greater Hyderabad. He has directed officials to implement structural changes and redistribute responsibilities accordingly. In a review meeting at the Secretariat on Monday evening, the Chief Minister discussed the reorganization with officials from Municipal Administration, HMDA, and Musi Development.
Expansion of disaster management responsibilities
Recognizing the geographic expansion of Hyderabad, the Chief Minister ordered the Disaster Management Department to extend its jurisdiction to the Outer Ring Road. He suggested including GHMC, 27 surrounding municipalities and corporations, and 33 gram panchayats within its service area. The department will be renamed the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring Protection (HYDRA). The Chief Minister proposed appointing a DIG-level officer as the director and SP-level officers as additional directors. He also recommended special teams from GHMC, HMDA, the Water Board, city traffic, and other departments to join this new division.
The Chief Minister emphasized the need for the Disaster Management Department to offer continuous services to city residents, not just during floods or emergencies. HYDRA should actively address all issues faced by Hyderabad’s citizens, including preserving the city’s tanks and ponds, protecting government properties from encroachments, and managing hoardings and flex banners. Additionally, HYDRA will oversee water pipelines, electricity supply lines, drainage, flood management, and traffic control.
Focus on heritage and infrastructure projects
Chief Minister Reddy directed the acceleration of the Musi River Development Project, aiming to elevate Hyderabad’s international reputation. He stressed the importance of working towards the government’s goal of transforming this project into a landmark. He also ordered officials to take necessary actions to restore historical buildings and structures within the city. The GHMC presented a PowerPoint on various heritage sites, such as the City Library, Charminar Ayurvedic Hospital, and Nizamia Observatory etc. The Chief Minister encouraged exploring ways to develop these sites for tourism and integrating feasible ones into the Musi River Development Project.
The Chief Minister instructed Chief Secretary Shantikumar to draft a comprehensive reorganization plan, including staffing, duties, and budget allocations for HYDRA. He also emphasized identifying key areas where the Disaster Management Department can enhance its operations.
The meeting included Chief Secretary Shantikumar, Principal Secretary of Municipal Administration and Urban Development Danakishore, GHMC Commissioner Amrapali, GHMC Vigilance Disaster Management Commissioner A.V. Ranganath, and Hyderabad Water Board MD Ashok Reddy.
