Traffic police arrest 349 for drunk driving in Cyberabad

Hyderabad: Traffic Police conducted a large-scale drunk driving test in Cyberabad, apprehending 349 individuals on June 16 (Sunday).

The police reported apprehending 253 individuals riding two-wheelers, 16 individuals operating three-wheelers, 74 individuals driving four-wheelers, and 6 drivers of heavy vehicles.

The report shows that there were 346 male individuals and 3 female individuals who were caught during drunk driving tests. One minor was caught in a drunk and drive test, police mentioned in its report.

Several cases were booked at the following police stations: Madhapur-74, Raidurgam-30, Gachibowli-unknown, Rajendra Nagar-36, Chevella-10, Miyapur-13, Shadnagar-8, Kukatpally-32, Balanagar-23, Jeedimetla-25, Alwal-7, Medchal-13, RC Puram-10, Shamshabad-10.

Cyberabad Traffic Police took to its ‘X’ handle and posted that they “Led a large-scale Drunk driving test in Cyberabad, apprehending 349 offenders. A total of 253 two-wheelers, 16 three-wheelers, 74 four-wheelers, and 6 heavy vehicle drivers were caught.”

One citizen took to ‘X’ and expressed appreciation by saying, “I appreciate the efforts of the CYB traffic team. Hats off, Joel Davis, sir.”

Cyberabad Traffic Police Arrest

Another user went to ‘X’ and reported a complaint, saying: “This is a matter of urgency. Thank you. Dear officers of @cyberabadpolice, there is a lot of solicitation by hijras occurring near TSPA junction, ORR service road towards Himayat Sagar. Kindly address this issue.”

A user has reported concerns regarding the management of the Habsiguda Circle traffic department, citing observations of traffic police stationed in the signal booth without actively managing traffic lights. Additionally, the user commented on the lack of proper attire among both contracted and regular police officers. Furthermore, the user noted that police officers are not readily available until after 7:30 pm.

Another user expressed their appreciation by saying, “Well done! Similarly, please consider apprehending wrong-side drivers as well.”
