Congress gets summons over ‘fake Amit Shah video’

Amit Shah Fake Video

Nampally: Three of Telangana Congress leaders, Manne Sathish, Shiva Kumar and Asma Taslim got summons from Delhi Police over allegedly sharing an edited video of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, where he was seen speaking about reservations on social media handles. Speaking to the media, Congress legal cell incharge, Ramachandra Reddy said that he received the notices and they would revert in the next fifteen days to the FIR after going through the details completely. On Monday, Delhi police reached Gandhi Bhavan in Nampally and issued the notices.

Telangana Chief Minister, A Revanth Reddy, who is in Karnataka, has also reacted to these summons and said that “So far, ED, CBI and Income Tax were used by PM Modi and Amit Shah to win elections but today I got to know that Delhi Police has reached the office of Telangana Congress party. Someone posted something on social media and they have come to arrest the Telangana Congress president and Telangana CM. This means Narendra Modi is using Delhi Police to win elections now. No one is going to get scared, we will give you a befitting reply..

Meanwhile, G. Niranjan, TPCC Vice-President and Chairman, Election Commission Coordination Committee said, “We strongly condemn the issue of notices by Delhi police to CM Reveanth Reddy and other Congress leaders in a fabricated fake video case.”

He further added that “The fake video on Amith Shah is a part of a big conspiracy hatched by BJP to blame the Congress as they have realised their chances of winning in this election is very bleak. From the beginning the BJP has been a champion of spreading global propaganda through vicious fake videos. The alleged fake video of Amith Shah certainly has its origin from the fake videos factory of BJP. The people of Telangana are well aware of gimmicks of BJP and teach a lesson to it.”
