Congress corporators caught bribing voters in Kukatpally

Kukatpally:As the day of polling arrives, malpractices are coming to the forefront violating the election code of conduct on Monday. In a recent incident in Kukatpally of Hyderabad, Congress corporator was allegedly caught giving money to the voters. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members have also complained to the police regarding the incident.

The incident happened in Kukatpally’s Sathavahana Nagar near, adjacent to a polling booth in a school nearby. It has led to a protest by the BJP people and turned into a brawl between the Congress and BJP people on the ground and affected the polling process. However, the police at the spot intervened and controlled the situation.

BJP people caught the Congress men red handedly

According to the sources, Congress corporators, reportedly, Bhanu Prasad and Ravi Shankar were caught red handedly while they were bribing the voters. It is estimated that each voter is being distributed a bribe of Rs.2000 to Rs.5000 and the Congress members were caught with an amount of Rs.20 lakhs of cash and the money was seized by the police. The local BJP leaders have also said that while there were two bags full of money, one person seemed to have escaped with a bag, allegedly filled with money. They reported to the nearby police. Sources further revealed that, BJP Ravi Kumar Yadav was the person who caught the Congress people, distributing the money.
