Congress Candidate, Sri Ganesh Leads In Scb Bye Election In Tenth Round

Secunderabad: After the tenth round, Sriganesh from Indian National Congress(INC) is leading from the Secunderabad Cantonment Assembly segment, with ten more rounds to go. Dr Vamsha Tilak T N, contesting from BJP is trailing behind him with 8779 votes difference.

The Congress candidate is currently leading with 31,666 votes. Following behind is Dr Vamsha Tilak T N, contesting from BJP, has secured 22,887 votes. And Niveditha Sayanna contesting from BRS, with 21,489 votes stands in the third position.

Secunderabad Cantonment was a bastion for Sayanna’s family. Niveditha Sayanna’s father won Secunderabad Cantonment assembly seat for five times. After bifurcation of Telanagan state Sayanna joined the BRS in 2015. He contested on BRS ticket in 2018 and was elected as an MLA for the fifth time from the Cantonment segment. After the demise of Sayanna, his elder daughter Lasya Nanditha, won the seat during the 2023 assembly election although her party lost power in the state.

After the tragic demise of Secunderabad Cantonment sitting MLA Lasya Nanditha, Secunderabad Cantonment went for a bye-election. Fifteen candidates were in foray from here and the assembly segment went for polls on May 13 along with 17 Lok Sabha constituencies.

As the results are scheduled to be announced on June 4, the counting process across the counting centers began at 8am on Tuesday morning. This time, the ruling Indian National Congress(INC) party, opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are in the race and as of now they are leading with eight seats each.
