HYDERABAD: Classrooms are evolving, and so should teachers, said Prof. Ishtiaque Ahmed, Registrar of Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), during the inauguration of an eight-day Sensitization and Orientation Program on NEP 2020.

The program, organized by UGC-MMTTC at MANUU, aims to address the challenges posed by dynamic classrooms, evolving students, and changing syllabi.

According to Prof. Ahmed, there is a need to focus on developing robust infrastructure, raising awareness about gender issues within the academic and student community, promoting multi-disciplinary and holistic education, and enhancing the quality of research and publications.

Highlighting the students’ proficiency in utilizing AI and technologies like CHATGPT, Prof. Ahmed emphasized the importance of providing them with innovative and unique learning experiences.

The eight-day capacity-building program, the Orientation and Sensitization Programme on NEP 2020, is set to conclude on February 12, 2024. Over 125 participants from across the country have registered for this online initiative.

The program covers a diverse range of themes, including holistic and multidisciplinary education, Indian knowledge systems, academic leadership, governance and management, higher education’s role in society, research and development, skill development, student diversity, inclusive education, and the use of information and communication technology.
