Hyderabad: The Chevella Police department successfully intervened in a suicide attempt by a local man on June 26 (Wednesday).

The man, identified as 21-year-old Anand, a resident of Malkapur village and a secretary at Patnam Mahender Reddy Hospital, reportedly consumed Toppet 77 powder mixed with water.

According to reports, Anand’s father, Vittalaya, noticed a WhatsApp status update from his son hinting at drug use. Vittalaya immediately contacted the Chevella police upon noticing the concerning message.

Responding swiftly, the Chevella police team, led by Constable Naresh and Home Guard Ramesh, used Jio Talk to locate Anand’s whereabouts. Their efforts led them to pinpoint his location near a tree under the Konagattu Shiva Temple.

The police team wasted no time and rushed Anand to the government hospital for immediate medical attention. The prompt action by the Chevella police is being commended for potentially saving Anand’s life.

In a similar incident happened on Monday, June 17, 2024, Madhapur Traffic Police rescued a 25-year-old woman from attempting to jump off the Durgam Cheruvu Cable Bridge.

According to reports, the Madhapur Traffic Police’s timely intervention prevented a woman from attempting to jump off the Durgam Cheruvu Cable bridge, ultimately protecting her life. After rescuing her, it was revealed that she had reportedly taken pills before jumping.
Upon learning this information, the traffic police promptly rushed the woman to Vikram Hospital for immediate treatment. Further details are awaited.

The Cyberabad Traffic Police shared on ‘X,’ a social media platform that “The Madhapur Traffic Police prevented a woman from jumping off the Durgam Cheruvu Cable bridge, saving her life. The 25-year-old woman, who reportedly ingested pills, was taken to Vikram Hospital for treatment. #CyberabadTrafficPolice.”
