HYDERABAD: Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi strongly responded to BJP’s Navneet Kaur Rana’s remarks, suggesting that altering the “Hindu-Muslim ratio” in the country could be done in 15 seconds if the police were absent.

Owaisi stated that no one was stopping her from attempting this, asserting that he is unafraid. In response to Rana’s claim that 15 seconds were sufficient instead of 15 minutes, Owaisi challenged her by invoking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s authority, questioning why they couldn’t take longer if necessary. He dared them to proceed, emphasizing that he and his party were prepared and willing to engage.

Owaisi pointed out PM Modi’s unexpected meet with Pakistan’s former PM Nawaz Shariff after his trip to Afghanistan. He pointed out this in response to Modi’s suggestion that supporting AIMIM would benefit Pakistan. The discussion arose when Navneet Rana brought up a controversial comment made by Asaduddin’s brother, Akbaruddin Owaisi, in 2013. Rana, in response to Akbaruddin Owaisi’s 2013 remark, proposed that “It will only take us 15 seconds to wipe you out not 15 minutes.”

During a campaign for BJP’s Hyderabad candidate Madhavi Latha, Rana brought up Akbaruddin Owaisi’s previous statement, asserting that while it might take him 15 minutes, it would only take them 15 seconds to act if the police were removed. She implied that the Owaisi brothers would struggle to act within a 15-second timeframe.

Rana lauded Latha’s strength, pledging to avoid Hyderabad mirroring Pakistan. Madhavi Latha, chosen by the BJP, will challenge Asaduddin Owaisi, a four-time Lok Sabha MP and the AIMIM chief, who has held the Hyderabad seat since 2004.
