During the investigation, it was discovered that the 24-year-old woman from Ananthapur, Andhra Pradesh, had relocated to Hyderabad and joined an IAS Coaching Centre in Ashok Nagar, Himayat Nagar, to prepare for Group-I examinations. She allegedly made a love proposal to one of the faculty members at the coaching center, which was rejected as he was already married with children. Holding a grudge, she collected his family profile from Instagram and created fake accounts on Instagram and YouTube channels. She then uploaded family photos, including those of his wife and minor daughter, on official Instagram pages of TS High Court, the IAS Coaching Centre, various media channels, and among the student community, relatives, and friends of the faculty and his wife.

The cybercrime police, using technical evidence, identified and apprehended the accused in Ananthapur. She was brought before the XII ACMM Court in Hyderabad and remanded to judicial custody.
