Amit Shah doctored video row: Telangana congress sends out replies

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy gave his reply in the Delhi High Court in the row over allegedly sharing a doctored video of Amit Shah by the Congress X accounts (formerly twitter) on Wednesday. Earlier on April 29, Revanth Reddy along with other congress leaders received a notice in this regard.

Lawyer Sowyma Gupta, who was representing Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in Delhi High Court said that they have filed a reply on behalf of the CM. In a video, lawyer Sowmya Gupta said that there is an allegation that the video was shared from INC telangana X handle for which the 91 A notice was served. However, the lawyer added that the Chief Minister of Telangana is neither the owner nor the someone who handles that account. The lawyer further added that this is sent out in the reply.

Requests 15 days time

Meanwhile, the advocate M Ramachandra Reddy has also replied on behalf of the four other congress leaders, Shiva Kumar Ambala, Asma Tasleem, Sathish Manne and Naveen Pattem who got notices over the ‘doctored video’. They have requested a further 15 days for studying and answering the notice properly.

It was mentioned that “requesting your good office to extend the time for 15 days for giving reply after going through the content connected with the URL link furnished by you. AS this is election period and we are busy with many vocations and the allegation levelled by you is purely technical and to verify and ascertain facts it needs some time for which we request your good office to extend the time for 15 days to answer your reply properly revealing facts.

Allegedly, the congress leaders shared a doctored video of Union Home Minister, Amit Shah. While in the original video, Amit Shah was talking about the removal of reservations for the muslim community and in the altered video, it appeared to seem like, Amit Shah told to remove reservations for the SC, ST and OBC communities. This edited video went viral and allegedly Telangana congress X handles and other leaders have also reshared this video from their accounts.
