Acb Conducts Raids Against Hyderabad Ccs Acp Umamaheswara Rao

Secunderabad: With the break of dawn, Telangana Anti Corruption Bureau(ACB) started a major crackdown on one of their own most corrupt officers working in the police department on Tuesday. After the recent spree of raids against revenue department officials, the agency seems to shift its focus to the Police department.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau(ACB) conducted simultaneous raids across six locations in Hyderabad including Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Umamaheswara Rao’s residence at Ashoka Ornata Apartments in Ashok nagar Hyderand and his family. The raids were conducted against tainted officials after a agency opened a disproportionate assets(DA) case against Umamaheswara Rao.

Presently posted at Hyderabad Central Crime Station (CCS) as ACP Umamaheswara Rao is not new to controversies, he was embroiled in numerous controversies throughout his career. Umamaheswara Rao, who is notably the investigation officer in the high-profile Sahithi Infra cases, finds himself at the center of these investigations. The allegations against him include significant irregularities and misuse of his official position.

Illegal assets acquired through his government job

And the most recent one which came to light is a complaint from city based businessman Saran Chowdary. Subsequently, the probe agency which is investigating the Disproportionate Assets(DA) case jumped in action and started raids to unearth the movable and immovable properties acquired illegally exploiting his government job.

According to the complaint from Saran Chowdary who alleged that Umamaheswara Rao along with former task force DCP and accused in Phone tapping case Radha Kishan Rao and former minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao Chowdary alleged that in August 2023, he was illegally detained, assaulted, and extorted by the accused.

The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) requested the public to contact the Toll Free Number of ACB, which is 1064 if any public servant demanded a bribe. The anti corruption agency assured that they would take action as per the law, as they receive complaints.
