ACB nabs executive engineer caught accepting Rs. 84,000 bribe in Hyderabad

MASAB TANK: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) caught executive engineer K Jaga Jyothi red-handed on Monday from the Tribal Welfare Engineering Department, Tribal Bhavan, for demanding and accepting a bribe amount of Rs.84,000 from a licensed contractor.

She was caught accepting a bribe from the complainant Bodukam Ganganna, a licensed Contractor from Nizamabad, to perform an official duty for the already sanctioned bill pertaining to Nizamabad work and to fix Revised Milestone (Schedule) for the completion of work pertaining to the Gajula Ramaram site for the construction of the Juvenile Boys Hostel building and to submit bills for this work taken up by the complainant.

The bribe amount of Rs.84,000 was recovered from the possession of K. Jaga Jyothi and her right-hand fingers tested positive in the phenolphthalein test. The accused officer performed his duty improperly and dishonestly to obtain undue advantage.

The accused executive engineer SE, Tribal Welfare Engineering Department, Tribal Bhavan, has been arrested and will be produced before the Principal Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases Court at Hyderabad. The case is under investigation.
