5-Day Bank Closure In April

HYDERABAD: Individuals intending to visit banks for in-person transactions in the next five days should be aware of potential disruptions in regular banking operations due to back-to-back religious holidays and the weekends.

Every month the bank holiday calendar is released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), and this includes all Sundays as well as second and fourth Saturdays.The calendar is important for customers to plan their visits and avoid unnecessary trips to the bank premises.

In the current month of April, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has officially issued the list of bank holidays for April. According to the list, banks across different states will remain closed for 14 days on the occasion of major festivals like Ugadi (Telugu New Year), Eid, and more. However, bank customers must note that although the banks will be physically closed for 14 days in April, online services like internet banking, UPI, and mobile banking will be available to customers without any fail.

List of Bank Holidays in April 2024

April 9: Ugadi (Telugu New Year)

April 10 or April 11: Ramzan/Eid festival depending on the moon sighting

April 13: Second Saturday

April 16/17: Ram Navami celebrations

April 27: Fourth Saturday

Customers planning to visit their banks are advised to check with their nearest branches for local and state holiday schedules to avoid inconveniences.
