HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Airport Metro Rail Limited (HAML) officials took a stroll along the Nagole-Chandrayangutta to map new stations for the Airport Metro. And officials have decided to include 13 more stations.

Hyderabad Metro Managing Director NVS Reddy announced addition and expansion of 13 stations along the route. Announced new stations are: Nagole Chowrasta, Alkapuri Chowrasta, Kamineni Hospital, LB Nagar Junction, Sagar Ring Road, Mythri Nagar, Karmanghat, Champapet Road Junction, Owaisi Hospital, DRDO, Hafiz Babanagar, and Chandrayangutta.

NVS Reddy stated that new plans outline the construction of a Nagole Airport station near the existing Nagole Station. To facilitate the connectivity between two stations, officials are decided to construct a skywalk. He further mentioned that the expansion plans require land acquisition due to existing flyovers between Nagole and Chandrayangutta. Reddy also directed officials to strategize for acquiring feedback from citizens and traffic police to name the stations.

“The presence of multiple very high flyovers at the Bairamalguda/Sagar road junction will increase the height of the Airport Metro line abnormally. To reduce the height of the Airport Metro corridor and Bairamalguda/Sagar Junction Metro station, the Metro alignment has to be shifted to the right side of the flyovers and the station located in the adjacent open space,” HAML said in a statement.

“Proper integration of both corridors will have to be ensured with height adjustments of the concourse and platform levels of the interchange station,” it said.
