Officials find houseflies, hygiene issues at Zomato Hyperpure warehouse in Kukatpally

Kukatpally: A task force from the Telangana Commissioner of Food Safety conducted inspections at the Zomato Hyperpure Private Limited warehouse located in Kukatpally on October 29, 2024.
During the inspection, officials discovered 18 kg of button mushrooms labelled with a future packing date of October 30, 2024. While the food business operator (FBO) was found to be operating with a valid state license, which was displayed on the premises, several food safety concerns were noted.
The warehouse was found to be open directly to the outside environment and lacked proper insect-proof screens, resulting in the presence of houseflies inside the facility. Additionally, some food handlers were observed working without appropriate hair caps and aprons.
Despite these issues, the FBO had medical fitness certificates for food handlers and pest control records available for review.
