YouTuber Praneeth Hanumanthu faces drug charges in addition to previous arrest
Hyderabad: Controversial YouTuber Praneeth Hanumanthu is facing legal trouble once again as a drugs case has been filed against him. Currently in judicial custody for 14 days, Praneeth stands accused of drug consumption following medical tests confirming his involvement with narcotics.
Praneeth Hanumanthu is currently detained at Central Prison in Chanchalguda, Hyderabad, where he awaits further legal proceedings. In response to the developments, Cyber Security police have petitioned the court for a three-day custody of Praneeth. Their request aims to facilitate additional interrogation to uncover further details regarding his drug use and potential connections to other illicit activities.
It was recalled that Praneeth Hanumantu, a YouTuber aged 29, was arrested by Telangana police for making derogatory comments about father-daughter relationships in Bangalore recently. The issue was initially highlighted by Tollywood actor Sai Dharam Tej, who flagged a YouTube conversation that was offensive towards children and family relationships. This prompted Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy to order police action against those involved. Sai Dharam Tej highlighted the importance of child safety and urged action from both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments.
In response, Chief Minister Anumula Revanth Reddy assured that the government would investigate and take appropriate action. Shikha Goel, Additional Director General of Police (Women Safety Wing), confirmed that a case had been registered with the Telangana State Cyber Security Bureau and that they were coordinating with Andhra Pradesh police for the investigation. Strict measures were promised against the accused to address the issue of child safety.

Actor Sudheer Babu and Karthikeya expressed regret on social media for their past collaborations with YouTuber Praneeth Hanumonthu, citing his controversial activities. Sudheer Babu condemned having Praneeth in his recent film “Harom Hara,” apologizing for not knowing Praneeth’s true nature earlier and urging for vigilance against such individuals.
Karthikeya, in an interview, admitted participating in an interview with Praneeth for movie promotion but expressed discomfort with the questions and regretted being associated with such content. He pledged to be more discerning in future media interactions.
