Residents raise concerns over destruction of good roads in Yellareddy Guda

Residents question destruction of good roads in Yellareddy Guda, Ameerpet

Ameerpet: Residents of Yellareddy Guda in Ameerpet are expressing confusion and frustration regarding ongoing road construction in their area. Many are questioning why authorities are damaging good roads to lay new ones while neglecting those that are in much worse condition.

Nikhil, a local resident and software engineer, voiced his concerns while speaking with the Hyderabad Mail. “They destroyed good roads to lay the new road. But why?” he asked.

He elaborated, “There are many terrible roads filled with potholes that are nearly impassable for cars and bikes. Some roads are almost impossible to walk on whenever it rains. It’s puzzling why the officials are not focusing on those roads instead of damaging a perfectly good one. I have seen people with GHMC ID cards on-site as the destruction began.”

Nikhil called on the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to prioritise the repair and development of the neglected roads in the area.

He also raised the issue on the platform ‘X,’ formerly known as Twitter, tagging GHMC Zonal Commissioner for Khairatabad, GHMC Commissioner, and GHMC Mayor Vijayalaxmi Gadwal. In his post, he questioned, “Why? In Yellareddy Guda-Ameerpet, this road was laid just a few months ago and is now completely destroyed, despite being in good condition. There are many roads that need repair and are in very bad shape, yet the focus seems to be on laying new roads by damaging the good ones.”

Residents hope for a prompt response and action from the authorities to address their concerns.
