YAKUTPURA: Residents in Yakutpura have complained about receiving polluted water in their homes. The affected areas include SRT Colony, Azmath Nagar, Wahed Colony, Imambada, and Rein Bazar.
Despite repeated requests to Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) , no action has been taken to rectify the water pollution problem. Many residents, including children, are falling ill due to the contaminated water.
Many residents, including children, are falling ill due to the contaminated water. They demand quick action to resolve the issue and ensure clean water. Amjed Ullah Khan, Spokesman of Majlis Bachao Tahreek (MBT) and Ex-Corporator, alleged that no senior officer from HMWSSB has visited the area in the last 15-20 days to check water pollution.
Amjed Ullah Khan took to ‘X’ to raise the issue, stating, “Despite repeated complaints, water pollution is not being controlled by HMWSSB. Look at how dirty water is being supplied to a house in Masjid-e-Hazarim, Wahed Colony, Yakutpura Assembly Constituency. Not only this area, but the entire SRT Colony, Azmath Nagar, Wahed Colony, Imambada, Rein Bazar, etc., are experiencing pollution in drinking water, and local residents’ complaints are not being addressed, leading to many citizens, especially children, falling ill. I request you to kindly ask MD HMWSSB to personally visit these areas and take necessary action to control water pollution.”
After his complaint, HMWSSB apologised for the inconvenience caused to the residents and registered a complaint with Token No: 2478, intimating the concerned officials to rectify the situation as soon as possible.
