Telangana’s first network arch bridge at Yadagirigutta to open by June-end

NALGONDA: Telangana’s first network arch bridge, coming up near the Yadagirigutta Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, is set to open by the end of June, officials said. The 64-metre structure, built at an estimated cost of ₹69 crore, is in its final stage with about 85% of works completed.
Once operational, the bridge will function as a dedicated entry flyover to the hill shrine. It will connect a point near the Arya Vysya Annadana Sathram at the foothills to the first ghat road, which extends for 445 metres.
New route to cut travel distance by nearly four kilometres
The new flyover will allow devotees to directly access Ghat Road No. 1 and proceed towards Peddagutta, where facilities such as choultries and sathrams are being developed. At present, vehicles take a longer route via the Nayi Brahmin Sathram–Kalyanakatta road, adding nearly four kilometres to the journey.
Temple authorities said the new route would reduce travel time and ease congestion. Devotees currently depend on the exit flyover to reach the hill shrine, leading to traffic bottlenecks.
Advanced engineering works completed, final phase underway
The 12-metre-wide bridge has been designed for smooth and safe vehicular movement. Engineers from SCON Infra, the executing firm, said a key structural milestone has been achieved with the installation of high-strength tension bars.
A total of 52 tension bars were tightened using hydraulic systems to ensure structural stability, as per design specifications. Officials said the remaining works are progressing rapidly and the bridge is expected to be ready for public use before June-end.
