Yadadri: In a shocking incident, three Class 9 schoolgirls were allegedly raped by three youths after being taken to Yadagirigutta on the pretext of a temple visit.

Police said the girls, who had skipped school in the Osmania University area of Hyderabad, were approached by one of the accused who befriended them. He later called two of his friends and introduced them to the girls.

The three youths took the girls to Yadagirigutta for darshan. After the temple visit, they allegedly lured the girls to a lodge, where they raped them through the night. The next morning, the accused dropped the girls in Hyderabad and fled.

When the girls failed to return home that night, their parents questioned them, and the minors disclosed the assault. The parents lodged a complaint at Alwal police station.

Police said the three accused and the lodge owner have been taken into custody. A case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
