World Heritage Day 2024 celebrations kicks off with Heritage Walk in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The World Heritage Day 2024 celebrations commenced n Hyderabad with the flagging of a heritage walk on Saturday.

Several officials and enthusiasts gathered in Hyderabad for the Heritage Walk to commemorate World Heritage Day 2024, led by Dr. Rohini Deputy Superintending Archaeologist, ASI Hyderabad Circle and Er. Vedakumar Chairman Deccan Heritage Academy Trust (DHAT) among others.

The heritage walk which was held on April 14, 2024 saw participation from both ICOMOS India and public members.

The heritage walk, organised by ICOMOS India South Zone in collaboration with DHAT, commenced with interactions led by Dr. Rohini and Er. Vedakumar, engaging participants in discussions about the significance of preserving heritage sites.

The walk concluded at Chowmahalla Palace, where participants reflected on the importance of conserving Hyderabad’s rich heritage as part of World Heritage Day celebrations.
