Woman murdered for jewellery in Dundigal

Hyderabad: A woman was killed for her jewellery by unidentified assailants at her residence in Mallampet, under the Dundigal Police Station limits, late on the night of September 23, 2024.

The victim has been identified as 50-year-old A. Sharada, a resident of Sri Vamshi Residency in Mallampet.

According to the reports, Sharada was brutally murdered and gold ornaments were stolen from her body. Her son, Vinay, left for work on Monday morning, leaving her home alone. Later that night, when Vinay attempted to contact his mother by phone but received no response, he reached out to their neighbors. Upon checking the house, they discovered Sharada lying dead in her bedroom.

The Dundigal police arrived at the scene shortly after being informed and initiated an investigation. Authorities confirmed that the assailants had entered the house, killed Sharada, and stolen the gold ornaments she was wearing before fleeing. A case has been registered, and the investigation is ongoing.

It was earlier reported that a 50-year-old barber, Raju, was brutally murdered by a relative in Narsingi, Ranga Reddy district, on August 14, 2024, Wednesday.

The accused, also a barber, surrendered himself at the Narsingi Police Station after committing the crime. The motive behind the murder is believed to be a family dispute.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the police immediately sent a team to the crime scene. The victim’s body was subsequently shifted to Osmania General Hospital for post-mortem examination. Narsingi police have registered a case.

In a separate incident, a crime unfolded in the SR Nagar area of Hyderabad on the night of July 27, 2024 (Saturday) when a private teacher was fatally stabbed by his roommate, a barber. The victim has been identified as Neeli Venkataramana, a Kurnool native who migrated to the city in search of better opportunities. The accused, Ganesh, is reported to have been a frequent source of disturbance due to his drunken behavior, leading to escalating tensions between the roommates.

A heated argument on Saturday night turned deadly when Ganesh attacked Venkataramana with a knife, causing fatal injuries. The incident has sent shockwaves through the city and raised concerns about safety and security. Police have registered a murder case.
