Hyderabad: In a recent raid near Serilingampalle Railway Station, the Telangana Excise Enforcement Department apprehended a woman caught in the act of selling ganja disguised as turmeric. The operation led to the seizure of 10 packets of ganja, which were concealed within yellow packets typically used for turmeric.

The arrested individual has been identified as Neha Bhai, a native of Dhoolpet, who was found to be behind the illicit trade. Excise Enforcement Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Tirupati Yadav and Sub-Inspector Nagaraj and their team played a key role in the operation.

A case has been filed against Neha Bhai, and an investigation is ongoing.

According to police reports, the turmeric packets discovered at a local shop were actually filled with ganja. The enforcement team has been praised for uncovering this innovative smuggling method.

Enforcement Director VB Kamalasan Reddy commended the team for their successful operation in revealing the ganja trade disguised in turmeric packets.

It was earlier reported that Excise Enforcement Police in Hyderabad raided Ariko Cafe Ice Cream Parlour in Jubilee Hills, located on Roads 11 and 55, on Friday, September 6, 2024. During the raid, it was revealed that the establishment was selling whiskey-infused ice cream to children.

Officials seized 11.5 kilograms of ice cream containing 100 Pipers whiskey. The ice cream was being sold at a high price, and 60 milliliters of whiskey were mixed into each kilogram.

Dayakar Reddy and Sobhan were identified as the individuals involved in making the whiskey-infused ice cream. Sharath Chandra Reddy owns and operates the ice cream parlor.
