Woman dies after falling from Bachupally apartment

Hyderabad: A woman died after jumping from the fourth floor of MN Residency in KRCR Colony, Bachupally, on Thursday, January 9, 2025.
The woman, identified as Satya Lavanya (32), was a native of Pithapuram in Andhra Pradesh and worked as an Assistant Manager at the Bank of India’s Rajeev Gandhi Nagar branch. She had recently moved to Bachupally with her family and was married to Bathula Veeramohan, an IT professional, for five years.
The incident occurred in the afternoon when residents heard a loud commotion and immediately alerted authorities. The Bachupally police arrived at the scene and confirmed the woman’s identity. Initial investigations suggest that she may have fallen due to personal and work-related stress, but further inquiries are ongoing.
Upon hearing the noise, residents reported that they quickly called for an ambulance. However, some hesitated to help at first because the woman was new to the building. “We were all shocked when we heard the commotion,” said a resident who wished to remain anonymous. “Everyone immediately called for an ambulance, but at first, no one wanted to take her to the hospital since she was new to the apartment complex.”
Despite the initial hesitation, neighbors from adjacent apartments stepped in and transported her to the hospital. “We appreciate the quick thinking and compassion shown by our neighbors,” another resident said.
Despite the neighbors’ efforts, she was declared dead at the hospital. The police have registered a case, and the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination. An investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
In another incident on December 12, 2024, a 29-year-old software engineer tragically passed away after consuming poison. This incident occurred at her rented residence in Gokul Plots, Miyapur.
The deceased, identified as M. Venkata Naga Laxmi, was from Chatrai Village in Eluru, Andhra Pradesh. She had been married to Manoj Manikanta, a construction contractor from the same village, for approximately five months.
Reports indicate that the couple had been experiencing marital discord, frequently arguing over minor issues. Following another heated argument with her husband on Wednesday, Venkata Naga Laxmi consumed the poison that she had ordered from an e-commerce app on November 26. Her landlord discovered her condition and alerted her family; she was rushed to a private hospital in KPHB but unfortunately died from poisoning the following day.
Her family has alleged that her husband’s harassment may have contributed to her death. Based on this complaint, the Miyapur police have initiated a case and are actively investigating the matter. The body has also been sent to Gandhi Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
