Whiskey ice cream sold kids in Jubilee Hills

Hyderabad: The Excise Enforcement Police in Hyderabad conducted a raid on Ariko Cafe Ice Cream Parlour in Jubilee Hills, located on Roads 11 and 55, on Friday, September 6, 2024. During the raid, it was revealed that the establishment was selling whiskey-infused ice cream to unsuspecting customers, including children.

Officials seized 11.5 kilograms of ice cream containing 100 Pipers whiskey. The ice cream was being sold at a premium price, and 60 milliliters of whiskey were mixed into each kilogram.

Dayakar Reddy and Sobhan were identified as the individuals involved in making the whiskey-infused ice cream. Sharath Chandra Reddy owns and operates the ice cream parlor.

The team, led by Excise Superintendent STF team leader Pradeep Rao, confiscated 23 pieces of individual whiskey ice cream and 11.5 kilograms of the product. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.

Balaram SI Arun, Monika, Prasanna, and Yadagiri participated in the operation.

Excise officials expressed deep concern about the growing trend of using intoxicants like drugs and marijuana to target young people. They highlighted the dangers of such substances, especially when they are disguised as seemingly products like ice cream.
